Try, try again…
“If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.” I always try to cling to this philosophy. I’m the stubborn type. And I get really irritated with myself if I don’t get to where I want to be, or where I think I should be. So I keep trying.
Last month I entered a short story writing contest that was being held on Accentuate Writers Forum. If you have any interest in being a writer, check out this forum. It is run by Michelle L Devon and she is doing a wonderful job at helping writers get a boost.
As for my entry, it didn’t do so hot. The finalists were announced tonight and I wasn’t one of them. I was…heartbroken. The little voice inside my head that has dogged me for much of my life was chanting, “You’ll never make it, you aren’t good enough, just give it up.”
I know, I know…pity parties suck.
Which is why I’m glad that Michy (Michelle) also posted the guidelines for the next contest. I’m going to try, try again. I’m not going to give up. I’m going to keep on trying until I shut that little voice up for good.
If you like to write, I encourage you to check out the forum and join. It’s a great group. And you can get started on your entry for the next contest due in August. I’ll see you there.

You are amazing! I would still be holding a pity party, but not you. You have already started your story for the next contest. You rock girly!
